  • 7195:  Added ability to change VideoMapper tile ID after creation
  • New Companion Module created for use with Hippotizer RestAPI as of companion 4.2.0+8463
  • 8092:  Effects and generators can now receive timecode values with new pins to select which timecode source to use. 
  • 8093: Added timecode overlay to the generator list

  • 8433: Adds support for 12G SDI output modules to MX Hardware

Functionality Changes In 4.9.3

  • 7794: Implemented new "Hippo Head":{TOPIC-LINK+hippo-head-led} LED status effects 
  • 7904: Media Files and File Paths with Unicode can now be encoded to Media Manager.  These characters will be replaced with a "?" once encoded.
  • 8126: Removed port number as part of the identifier for static NDI sources.  This should make NDI lists more stable when systems come and go from the network especially with unicast NDI streams.
  • 8145: Hippotizer installers will now flash firmware for the fan and LED controller on install for MX systems
  • 8234: Added NDI Audio input support *Only works with Default Audio device at the moment.
  • 8267: Added more readouts for Source/MediaPlayer/Position pin.

Effect Editor

Effect Editor is a tool which can be used to create or modify the effects used in Hippotizer to transform layers, mixes, and viewports. It is a C# editor with a built-in preview window, so the user can see what their effect is doing while coding.

Effect Editor 1.0.0.1981 is currently compatible with 4.9.2.29935 and beyond.

Effects written with with this version of the editor may not be compatible with earlier versions of Hippotizer.

Functionality Changes In 4.9.0

  • Media encoded in 4.9 now utilizes a new version of FlexRes (FlexRes V2). This new codec is not backwards compatible and media encoded in 4.9 and later will not appear in 4.8 and earlier versions of software.
  • Output Manager now no longer allows for large disparities in Framerates by default. This setting can be changed in the Output Manager configuration settings but may come with decreased smoothness of rendering.
  • Media Manager now has a section for NotchLC behaviour on import.
  • Still Images can now be imported as a Flexres Image file. In short this allows for better crossfade support when using large still images.
  • Flexres Uncompressed now has settings for Bit Depth selection on upload.
  • Previously written custom effects will need to be converted to work in 4.9. Please reach out to Support if you need to convert custom effects.

Known issues in 4.9.0

  • *7722*: GDTF Exporter Sometimes Exports Empty Files - occasionally using the GDTF Export function in DMX2 component will export a file with 0kb file size. Re-exporting once or twice typically exports a valid file.
  • *7740*: Relaying Layers from Xfade Mixes does not always work as intended.
  • *7741*: Manual Xfade Takes do not always start the new clip from the In Frame.
  • *6962*: CITP Not yet functional.
  • *7560*: Key On Layer does not correctly use mismatched aspect ratio's between source and relay target.
  • *6487*: Blur in Live Mask not yet functional.
  • *7751*: The first time a show is created with 4.9 may take longer for the engine to start. Subsequent Engine starts will be faster than the first.
  • *7464*: Output Manager Display Identify button does not function.
  • *7631*: Zookeeper may disconnect/ shut down on first start. Restarting Zookeeper should not continue to close.
  • *xxxx*: Some effects and Generators may not be implemented.
